Kenya Mombasa Seminar - July 8th 2014

Kenya Embassy, in collaboration with JICA and the Conference of Oversea Port Logistics Projects recently organized the Kenya Mombasa Seminar in Tokyo. The seminar which focused on Mombasa Port development and investment opportunities of surrounding areas was held on 8th July, 2014. The seminar was attended by senior officials from the Kenya Port Authority led by Mr. Francis Ndua, the Managing Director of the KPA. The event was also attended by Japanese business executives as well as senior officials from JICA including Mr. Hiroshi Kato, the vice president of JICA and Dr. Izuru Kimura, JICA's Director for Africa. Other delegates who addressed the Seminar including H.E. Ambassador Mr. Benson Ogutu and Mr. Michiharu Abe, Advisor of Oveseas Coastal Area Development Institute of Japan. The event was followed by a networking reception which attracted approximately 100 private sectors from Japanese corporations with keen interest in the logistics of East Africa. The event provided a vital opportunity to exchange opinions between interested parties on the issue of securing the efficient flow of logistics as an important factor for the investment environment.
