H.E. THE AMBASSADOR
H.E. MR. DENNIS N. O. AWORI
The Ambassador is the Personal Representative of H.E. the President
of the Republic of Kenya in Japan and has the following mandate
-
- Head of Mission, Japan
- Coordinate and manage Kenya's foreign policy in Japan
- To pursue the values and interests of the People of Kenya through
diplomatic strategies and engagements in Japan.
- Economic and technical cooperation with Japan
- Liaison with Gaimusho and other Ministries and Agencies in
Japan on all economic and technical cooperation matters
- Work with other Missions accredited to Japan to promote Kenya's
international relations.
- Manage and communicate Kenya's foreign policy choices and decisions
on various international issues to the Japanese government, Kenyans
in Japan and other Missions in Japan.

COUNSELLOR
MR. ALLAN W. MBURU
The Counsellor is the Deputy Head of Mission and is responsible
to the Ambassador/Head of Mission for functions which include coordination of overall
general office administration, promotion of trade and investment
and consular functions. Others include:
- Head of Chancery
- Coordination of general administrative and Embassy activities
and response to general enquiries and complaints
- Implementation of Mission's Annual
Work Plan
- All inquiries on trade and investment
- Entertainment and Welfare
- Coordination of programmes for visiting government officials
and other VIPs
- National Day Programmes
- Press information and publicity matters and related inquiries
- Promotion of tourism

FIRST SECRETARY (CONSULAR)
MR. PETER K. MOSE
He is in charge of all consular matters. Promotion of
trade and investment and marketing
of tourism. Other responsibilities
include:
- All Immigration matters
- Issuance of visas and collection of visa fees
- Renewal of passports and applications for new passports
- Relief and repatriation of distressed Kenyan citizens
including stowaways
- Advise to prospective visitors/immigrants to Kenya on
immigration matters
- Tourism Promotion
- Film Licensing
- Cultural matters
- Contact person with NGOS, such as OISCA, Soka Gakkai,
Tenrikyo, Japan Foundation, Sasakawa Foundaion, etc.
- Protocol Officer
- Trade promotion and all commercial inquiries
- Kenyan nationals in Japan
- Kenyan students in Japan

FIRST SECRETARY (ADMIN.)
MS. CATHERINE M. MURAGURI
She is the Manager of the Office of the Ambassador and is in charge
of all official Communications. Her responsibilities include:
- Preparation of Ambassador's programmes
- Confidential Secretary to H.E. the Ambassador
- General information on Kenya
- Assist in trade promotion and cultural matters
- Protocol Officer

SECOND SECRETARY (FINANCE)
MR. JOHN K. NYAGA NJERU
He is in charge of all financial matters, procurement and maintenance
of the Chancery, the Ambassador's and other Home Based staff residential buildings.
Other responsibilities include:
- Maintenance of Cash book and monthly returns
through on Inventory
- Maintenance of stores and equipment both at the Chancery
and Officers' residences
- Assist in trade promotion and commercial inquiries
- Officer-in-charge of Local Staff
- Protocol Officer
- Transport Officer, including maintenance of official
vehicles and monthly vehicle returns
- Keeping of records and maintenance of stores, inventory
and returns
- Board of Survey
