Service Charter

The Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in Japan derives its obligation from the Service Charter of Kenya's Ministry of Foreign Affairs which includes and not limited to:


Our Vision

To pursue the interests and values of the Kenyan people and those of Africa through effective diplomatic engagement.


Service Charter / Obligations to its Customers:

Kenyan People:

  1. Authentication of legal documents for use in Japan and advisory services in fields such as education, employment opportunities and travel.
  2. Facilitation and information on Trade missions and investment opportunities in Japan.
  3. Mediation and arbitration of disputes involving Kenyans in Japan and foreign missions/ organizations with privileges and immunities.
  4. Information on Kenya's foreign policy.
  5. Provision of consular services to Kenyans in Japan.

To Japan, Other Diplomatic Missions and International Organisations Accredited to Japan:

  1. Facilitation of participation in events for the promotion of Trade, investment, Tourism and Culture.
  2. Liaison and coordination services with interlocutors in Japan and the Diplomatic Community in Japan.
  3. Coordination of relations with the Diaspora and State ceremonial procedures.
  4. Protocol services.
  5. Coordinating and participating in multilateral and bilateral negotiations.
  6. Facilitating and coordinating adherence to international treaties, conventions and agreements as well as participating in diplomatic conferences.
  7. Co-ordination and facilitation of official appointments.
  8. Negotiations and conclusion of host agreements.
  9. Liaison services with Kenya's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other Kenyan Government Ministries/ Departments.
  10. Facilitation of Trade Missions in Kenya and their participation in International conferences held in Kenya.
  11. Dissemination of information on Kenya, such as History, Government, Trade and Investment, Education, Culture and Tourism.

To Our Internal Customers:

  1. General administrative service including working tools and equipment, and security.
  2. Welfare services.
  3. Financial and accounting services.
  4. Human resource management and development services.
