Sakura Science African Officers Invitation Program 2023

A delegation of six government officers from Kenya completed the Japan Science Technology Agency (JST) African Officers invitation Program that took place from 28th May -3rd June,2023.
The delegation included two representatives from the Ministry of Education, Vice Chancellor of Jomo Kenyatta University of Science and Technology and University of Nairobi. The Embassy was represented during the closing ceremony by Ms. Jennifer W. Njuguna, First Counsellor.


While in Japan the team visited several strategic institutions in Japan within the sectors of Education, Research and History which included the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), The National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) in Tsukuba City,Ibaraki Prefecture, University of Tsukuba, Ibaraki Prefecture, Imperial Palace, National Institute of Polar Research (NIPR) in Tachikawa City, Tokyo Institute of Technology in Meguro, Miraikan National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation) in Koto.


Such visits are crucial in that they assist participants share the future challenges of promoting research, development and transforming results into innovations in their countries and strengthen good relationship between Japan and other countries that will help science and technology diplomacy.
