JATA World Travel Fair 2009

JATA World Travel Fair 2009 which is the biggest travel exhibition in Asia was held from 18th to 20th September 2009 at Tokyo Big Site. The event attracted 151 countries and areas from all over the world and more than 110,000 people visited this event in 3 days.
Hon. Cecily Mbarire, Assistant Minister for Tourism visited Japan to attend this important exhibition. She had various meetings and exchanged the views on how to expand Japanese tourist market to Kenya with Japan Government Officials. She also held a Press Conference and officially launched Japanese magicalkenya website and Japanese Brochure as well as KTB’s representative office here in Japan.
At the Kenya Booth, Bakulutu dancers were a centre of attraction with their remarkable performance. They danced very powerfully, while entertaining the huge crowds and showed Kenyan culture. Furthermore, through their Japanese language knowledge, they encouraged the people to join them in the dance. Everybody had great time at the Kenyan booth.
This year, Africa was featured as a destination for JATA World Travel Fair 2009, and that made many people visit the African zone. We believe that all the visitors to African zone recognized how wonderful tourism destination Kenya is. We are therefore sure now that they are planning to visit Kenya.
