SEMINAR ON THE ROAD TO INVESTMENT AND TECHNOLOGY PROMOTION TOWARDS AFRICA

H.E. Amb. Benson H.O. Ogutu addresses participants to the Seminar on the Road to Investment and Technology Promotion Towards Africa, at Kenya Embassy on 13th May, 2011.

The Kenya Embassy hosted a Seminar on the “Road to Investment and Technology Promotion towards Africa” on 13th May, 2011. This was an inaugural event organized by the UNIDO ITPO Tokyo Office. Over fifty (50) participants from African Embassies, Japanese agencies and businessmen attended.

The Objective of the Seminar was to sensitize participants on the Africa Investment Promotion Agency Network (AfrIPANET), which was launched in 2001 to assist in building the capacity of African Investment Promotion Agencies (IPAs) to enable them develop and execute effective investment promotion strategies. Kenya is the current President of the Network.

Mr. Stefan Kratzsch, Industrial Development Officer from UNIDO Headquarters in Vienna made presentation and demonstration of AfrIPANET. The Head of UNIDO ITPO Tokyo, Mr. Taizo Nishikawa, , also made a presentation on the upcoming International Conference and Exhibition on Green Industry Development 2011 scheduled for 16th -18th November, 2011.

The Seminar was opened by H.E. Mr. Benson H.O. Ogutu, Ambassador of the Republic of Kenya.
