KENYA NATIONAL RUGBY SEVENS TEAM AT 2013 HSBC TOKYO TOURNAMENT

The Kenya National Rugby Sevens Team was among the Sixteen Rugby Sevens Teams that participated in the 2013 HSBC Tokyo Sevens Tournament. The tournament took place at Price Chichibu Memorial Stadium in Tokyo on 30th – 31st March, 2013.

On the first day of the match, the team took on Scotland and United States of America before meeting the world champions, Wales later in the day. The performance in Tokyo saw the team get five points, raising the total points of the team to seventy seven (77) points. Kenya now remains fifth (5th) in the IRB World Series.

H.E. Ambassador Benson H.O. Ogutu hosted the team for lunch on 1st April, 2013. During the luncheon, the Ambassador congratulated the players for their good performance in the IRB World Series and at the same time encouraged them to aim high in the remaining two tournaments scheduled for Scotland and England respectively.
