OFFICIAL VISIT TO JAPAN BY MS. MARRIANE KITANY, CHIEF OF STAFF; OFFICE OF THE DEPUTY PRESIDENT, 15TH -20TH DECEMBER, 2013

Ms. Marianne Kitany, Chief of Staff at the Office of the Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya made a five day official visit to Japan at the invitation of the Japanese Government. She was accompanied by the Cabinet Secretaries in charge of Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Jacob T. Kaimenyi, and Agriculture, Fisheries and Livestock, Mr Felix Koskei. Also in the delegation was the Principal Secretary for Fisheries Prof Micheni J. Ntiba and other senior government officials.

During her stay in Japan, the Chief of staff held meetings with various government Ministries and Agencies including, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Economy Trade & Industry, Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries &Forestry, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), and several private sector executives.

Discussions revolved around development cooperation matters both at the bilateral level and in the context of the TICAD process. She was also conducted on selected industrial site visits such as the Panasonic Centre and Misaki Fish Port.
