AMBASSADOR JOINS AFRICA DAY IN KYUSHU

H.E. Mr. Benson Ogutu giving a presentation on Agriculture in Kenya: 21st March, 2014



On March 21, 2014, H.E. Ambassador Benson Ogutu visited Fukuoka Prefecture at the invitation of the African Society of Kyushu University to attend the annual African day event held at Kokusaihiroba in Fukuoka city. The event is held annually to promote Africa's image to the Japanese community in Kyushu Island. Under the theme "Inspiration from the Life of Nelson Mandela" the African students in Kyushu University organized various activities depicting Africa, its unity in diversity and human potentials.

During the event, the Ambassador gave a presentation on agriculture in Kenya, focusing on diverse sectors of agriculture, its challenges and Government's policies in transforming agriculture into profitable, commercially oriented, internationally and regionally competitive economic activity. The event was also attended by the Ambassador of Nigeria to Japan, H.E. Mr. Godwin Agbo, who gave a presentation on Nigeria's role in peace keeping in Africa.
