The Kenya Embassy in Tokyo is this year participating in the 30th Anniversary of the MPATA, African Art Exhibition. Mr. George Mpata is an African artist who established his fame as an African Exotic Artist amongst other artists in New York during the age of the pop art in the 1960's. Mr. Mpata who was then marketing his art works on the streets of Nairobi excelled in the use of vivid colors for a cordial and comical expression of animals. During this year's Exhibition by Kirakusha at the Nagai Gallery in Ginza from 7th July to 13th September 2015, the Exhibitors have produced a collaboration between Mpata and a Japanese artist, Shisuko Tohmoto who also followed the primitive style of art. The Gallery has kindly shared the space with the Embassy to promote the Kenya tourism industry. We have the honor to announce this great opportunity for interested persons to visit and enjoy this wonderful exhibition to appreciate the paintings of the late Mpata to explore the soul of the artist in this exclusive space at the Nagai gallery.
