Deliberations focused on strengthening Japan Africa relations with an emphasis on TICAD VI, Boosting Private Partnership between Africa and Japan, Peace and Stability, Refugee matters, Wildlife and biodiversity conservation, Development of the blue economy; Natural energy Resources, among others. It is envisaged that part of the deliberations and recommendations thereof might be adopted into a resolution geared towards improving the outcome of TICAD VI Summit and Japan -Africa relations in general.

The discourse is deemed very timely and beneficial, especially in view to the run up of the forthcoming TICAD VI to be held in Nairobi in August this year. The Ambassador highlighted the fact that hosting TICAD VI in Nairobi reaffirms Africa's ownership to the TICAD process. He stated that TICAD VI will be a defining moment in terms of Private Sector participation in Africa's development along the TICAD framework. He further stressed on the need to have TICAD's priorities aligned to the Africa Agenda 2063.
