H.E. the Ambassador in his capacity as Chair of the Organizing Committee of Ima No Africa and AU Day Celebration makes Welcoming Remarks.
On 25th – 26th May 2019, the African Diplomatic Corps (ADC) hosted the 2nd Edition of Ima no Africa and celebrated Africa Day in the Ciy of Yokohama. Both Events were hosted under the Chairmanship of H.E. S. K. Maina, MBS. The Opening Ceremony was graced by Her Imperial Highnesss Princess Takamado and Hon. Taro Aso, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance who made a keynote address and also Her Worship Fumiko Hayashi, Mayor of Yokohama City. The Events which attracted a large crowd numbering close to 50,000 people were dubbed as precursors to TICAD 7 to be held in Yokohama.
The Events marked ADC’s highlight of its deiberate proactive People to People Diplomacy.
