H.E. Ambassador S. K. Maina, on Monday, 24th June 2019, together with the Ambassadors and Heads of Mission of the African Diplomatic Corps (ADC), attended the Breakfast Meeting hosted by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Tokyo, in the presence of two UNFPA Headquarters Executives.
During the Meeting H.E. Amb. Maina briefed the ADC on the Nairobi Summit on ICPD25 (International Conference on Population and Development 25) which will take place in Nairobi, Kenya on November 12-14, 2019 to mark the 50th Anniversary of UNFPA and the 25th Anniversary of the ICPD held in Cairo in 1994. Amb. Maina further informed the ADC on the aim of the Nairobi Summit to accelerate the implementation of the ICPD Programme of Action including reproductive health, women empowerment and gender equality.
