On 18th September, 2024, Amb. Moi Lemoshira, Ambassador-Designate of the Republic of Kenya to Japan received Mr. Jun Karube, Honorary Consul of Kenya to Japan at the Embassy. Mr. Karube serves as the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Kenya in Japan with jurisdiction over the Chubu region since his appointment in 2013.
During the courtesy call, the two reflected on the long-standing and cordial relations, spanning over six decades, that exist between the Kenya and Japan. Amb. Lemoshira expressed his appreciation to Mr. Karube for his noteworthy contribution to the deepening of the ties between the two countries with particular reference to promotion of investment in Kenya in the key sectors of manufacturing and energy. The potential for the expansion of the collaboration between Kenya and Japan was also discussed, notably through application of joint strategies to boost trade and investment in Kenya; increase market access for Kenyan goods in Japan; promotion of tourism in Kenya and increased people to people connections among others.
The Ambassador- Designate and the Honorary Consul committed to continue working together to harness the opportunities in Kenya and Japan in furtherance of the strong partnership of the two nations.
