AMB. MOI LEMOSHIRA, AMBASSADOR-DESIGNATE PAYS A COURTESY CALL ON HON. MASATAKA OKANO, VICE-MINISTER FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF JAPAN

Amb. Moi Lemoshira, Ambassador-Designate called on Hon. Masataka OKANO, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan on 4th September 2024 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The meeting served as the first port of call for the Ambassador-Designate as he commences his tour duty as Kenya’s envoy to Japan. In welcoming Amb. Lemoshira, Hon. Okano noted that the relations between Kenya and Japan have grown from strength to strength over time as has been witnessed by the broad scope of cooperation between the two countries. He observed the recent exchange of High-Level visits. H.E. Fumio Kishida, Prime Minister of Japan visited Kenya in May, 2023, and the return visit to Japan was made by H.E. William Ruto CGH, President of the Republic of Kenya in February, 2024 have further boosted bilateral cooperation.

Amb. Lemoshira expressed his appreciation for the warm reception extended upon his arrival in Japan and underscored his commitment to work towards the further stronger Kenya – Japan ties for the mutual benefit of both countries and their peoples. He highlighted that his approach would involve developing closer relations among the people of both nations, noting that “Diplomacy is strong when founded on the people-to-people connections which intensify common understanding among people from different countries”.

Hon. Masataka Okano proffered best wishes to the Amb. Designate and looked forward to close working relations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Kenya Embassy.
