The Embassy in collaboration with Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) and Miki Tourist, a Destination Management Company in Japan organized a series of Kenya Tourism Seminars for Japanese Travel Agents on 17th April in Tokyo, 22nd April in Nagoya and 23rd April in Osaka respectively.
In Tokyo, the Embassy hosted over 30 travel agents at the Chancery for the seminar. Ms. Nina Alai, Minister-Counsellor and Charge d'Affaires, ai., expressed gratitude to Mr. Katsumi Hine, Managing Director of MIKI TOURIST and Emirates Airlines and Safarilink representatives who also participated in the seminar.
Mr. John Opondo, Regional Manager and Ms. Ami Kawahara, Tour Consultant of MIKI Tourist delivered a presentation about updates on Kenya's tourism destinations based on the 9 regional tourism circuits which also included information on accommodation and logistics.
Participating travel agents expressed strong interests in developing new travel packages to Kenya to meet the increasing demand from Japanese travelers and promote Kenya as a tourist destination.
Amb. Lemoshira in a video message reiterated Kenya as a tourism destinations and invited guests to travel and enjoy the diverse, ecological and cultural experiences in Kenya.
In Nagoya and Osaka seminar, the Embassy was represented by Ms. Jennifer Njuguna, First Counsellor and Ms. Kanako Sugai, Tourism Assistant and the seminar drew 23 participants in Nagoya and 26 participants in Osaka.
