Today Ambassador Moi Lemoshira received Amb. Ryoichi Horie, former Ambassador of Japan to Kenya from 2016 to 2019. The former envoy who was accompanied by his spouse Mrs. Yuka Horie shared his memorable posting to Kenya, a country he first visited for his honeymoon. During his tenure in Nairobi, Kenya-Japan recorded milestones such as the launch of the development of multisectoral Dongo-Kundu infrastructure projects.
Amb. Horie is remembered in Kenya for his love of Kenyan songs. These includes Daima Mimi Mkenya by Eric Wainana which is one of Kenya's patriotic beats and the love song Malaika. The Japanese diplomat shared his love Kenya and had a performance at State House for former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

As Senior Research Fellow of the African Society of Japan and Visiting Professor at the Soka University where he has close ties with the Pan African Friendship Society. Amb. Horie remains an active in promoting Japan-Africa relations.
Amb. Lemoshira briefly shared his experiences in Japan which begun with his first visit in 1995 to participate in the 1st Japanese Language Programme for Young Diplomats by the Japan Foundation - Japanese Language Institute. The two exchanged views on possible areas of collaboration including through university activities focusing on information sharing on Kenya and Africa. The Kenyan envoy thanked Amb. Horie for the visit and availed himself to further engagement.
