THE EMBASSY HOSTED A KENYA TRAVEL SEMINAR IN SAPPORO, HOKKAIDO

On Saturday, 4th October, 2025, the Embassy hosted a Kenya Travel Seminar at the Red Brick Building, Important Cultural Property of Japan and former Hokkaido Government Office in Sapporo, Hokkaido.

The event aimed to increase awareness of Kenya's tourism potential among citizens in Hokkaido while providing practical knowledge and inspiration for the tourism industry.

It also promotes cultural exchange between Kenya and Hokkaido and strengthen the partnership with Government of Hokkaido to promote “inter-county partnership”.

Amb. Moi Lemoshira welcomed participants and briefed the Kenya’s information on geography, culture, sport and tourism as part of the introductory session.

Mr. Naokuni Kato, a Safari Guide certified by Kenyan Government delivered a presentation on Safari experiences in Kenya with his professional information on wild animals using his photos and videos.

Mr. Kelvin Irungu, a Kenyan student based in Sapporo delivered a brief presentation on Swahili language. Participants learned some Swahili phrases through the song ‘Jambo Bwana’.

During the seminar, participants enjoyed Kenyan specialty coffee, tea and macadamia nuts.

The Kenya quiz became the highlight of the event, filled with joy and excitement. The winners received gift bags containing Kenyan specialty coffee, tea, macadamia nuts, Magical Kenya branded cups and Kenyan flag beads bracelets.

Ambassador Moi Lemoshira attended the event accompanied by Ms. Kanako Sugai, Tourism Assistant.
