Mr. Wellington Muli, Minister Counsellor delivering his message to students

The Embassy participated in the “Music Exchange with Kenya” event hosted by Yuzato Elementary School in Osaka on Wednesday, 26th November 2025. Yuzato Elementary School and the Embassy have been engaged in meaningful exchanges since 2024 through the Osaka Expo International Exchange Program.  The Embassy was represented by Mr. Wellington Muli, Minister Counsellor/Immigration and Ms. Kanako Sugai, Tourism Assistant.

The event was enriched by a performance from Ms. Eriko Mukoyama, also known as “Anyango,” who plays the Nyatiti, a traditional musical instrument of the Luo community in Kenya. She also shared with the students how Kenyan music influenced her and how that encounter changed her life.

As part of the programme, the audience learned chanting phrases in a Kenyan local language and enjoyed a lively and joyful time singing and dancing together. Mr. Muli was also invited to view the children’s artworks inspired by Africa and exchange feedback with them. He encouraged the children to continue acting as young goodwill ambassadors of Kenya in Osaka. Mr. Muli reiterated gratitude for the decision by the School to partner in building relations with Kenya.

Speaking on behalf of the Embassy, Mr. Muli assured of “continued commitment to strengthen and expand interactions with Yuzato Elementary School through cultural and educational exchange activities in the future.”
