On Thursday, 5 March 2026, the Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in Japan hosted a sports exchange program in cooperation with Meguro City and the Honda Running Team at Midorigaoka Elementary School, under the Host Town Agreement with the City of Meguro during the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Embassy was represented by Ambassador Arthur A. Andambi, Deputy Head of Mission/Head of Chancery and Ms. Kanako Sugai, Tourism Assistant.

Mr. Vincent Yegon, Kenyan athlete and Mr. Yuki Matsumura, coach of the Honda Running Team, conducted a running lesson for thirty-five students. The session began with warm-up exercises followed by team relay activities. During the Q&A session, the students asked questions about the training and dedication required to become top athletes. The program concluded with the team sharing lunch with the students.
