On Saturday, 7^th March 2026, the Embassy of the Republic of Kenya participated in the Meguro International Friendship Festival held at Persimmon Hall in Meguro City.

The Embassy collaborated with importers of Kenyan products to promote Kenya’s unique goods and culture. Visitors had the opportunity to purchase and learn about a variety of Kenyan products, including Kenyan tea, accessories, leather goods, and traditional Maasai beadwork. The Embassy also engaged visitors through an interactive Kenya-themed quiz aimed at deepening awareness and understanding of Kenya.

The festival brought together Embassies and various organizations within Meguro Ward, providing an opportunity for residents and visitors to experience both Japanese and international cultures through music, dance, traditional attire, and diverse food cultures.

The event was further highlighted by a World Traditional Costume Show, where Kenya was proudly represented by Ms. Truphosa Oguna, Ms. Cindy Malava, Ms. Cecilia Naeku and Mr. Dennis Onyango, members of the Kenyan community in Japan. Their vibrant display of Kenyan traditional attire attracted significant interest and admiration from the Japanese audience, further showcasing Kenya’s rich cultural heritage.
