On 1st August 2026, the Embassy was represented by Mr. David Teddy Yaa, Second Secretary, at the Opening Ceremony of the 32nd World Children's Baseball Fair, held at the Jube Sports Field Nakadai Gymnasium in Narita City, Chiba Prefecture, Japan. The international event brought together young baseball players from 12 countries and regions, providing a unique platform for sports, cultural exchange, and the promotion of friendship among children from diverse backgrounds.
During the ceremony, participants, organizers, and invited guests celebrated the values of teamwork, respect, and international cooperation that the World Children's Baseball Fair has championed for over three decades. Kenya's participation underscores the country's commitment to youth empowerment, people-to-people exchanges, and the strengthening of bilateral relations with Japan through sports diplomacy.
Mr. Yaa conveyed the Embassy's appreciation to the Narita Executive Committee for the invitation and commended the organizers for their continued efforts in promoting global friendship and cultural understanding among young people. He also wished all participating children a successful and memorable tournament.
