The National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) in Tokyo held its annual Culture Day on Friday, 21 August 2026.

The Kenyan student body participated in the event by presenting a traditional cultural dance from the Agikuyu community and showcasing Kenya’s rich and diverse cultural heritage through various cultural artefacts and promotional materials at the Kenyan booth. The booth attracted over 75 visitors, while the cultural dance performance drew more than 100 attendees.

The Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in Japan supported the event by providing cultural artefacts and promotional materials. The Embassy will continue to support similar initiatives in the future as part of its efforts to promote Kenya’s cultural heritage in Japan.
