On 3rd September 2026, the Embassy received a beautiful artwork inspired by Kenya’s rose flower, presented by a Japanese artist Ms. Yoshie Aoki and received on behalf of the Embassy by Mr. David Yaa, Second Secretary.
The artwork features pigments extracted from roses distributed during the Kenya week at the Osaka Expo 2025, creating a golden shimmer when illuminated. The colourful droplets around the rose symbolise moisture sparkling in natural sunlight.
The gesture highlights the strong cultural and people-to-people ties between Kenya and Japan, while celebrating Kenya’s renowned floriculture.
