2nd October 2026

On Tuesday, 29th September 2026, the Embassy, led by Amb. Moi Lemoshira, hosted 7 Kenyan graduates under the Program for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS Program), who completed Masters programs at National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), Hiroshima University and Toyo University in Japan.
The Embassy extends special recognition to Ms. Esther Kemunto Anyona, who received the Award for Best Dissertation for the 2026 Cohort of Hiroshima University.
The engagement focused on how the graduates intend to apply the knowledge and skills gained in Japan upon their return to Kenya, as well as the challenges they may encounter in doing so. The Embassy also encouraged the JDS Program to consider increasing the number of scholarships available to Kenyan applicants and expanding the program beyond Masters programs to include PhD programs in the future.
