On 7th November, 2024, H.E. Moi LEMOSHIRA presented his Letters of Credence to His Majesty Emperor Naruhito of Japan, accrediting as Ambassador, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kenya to Japan.
The formal occasion steeped in the impressive Japanese culture and tradition, included a brief exchange between His Majesty Emperor Naruhito and Amb. Lemoshira on the state of the vibrant relations that exist between Kenya and Japan spanning a period of six decades. His Majesty Emperor Naruhito of Japan conveyed his best wishes to H.E. Dr. William Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and the People of Kenya and wished Amb. Lemoshira every success in the execution of his duties during his tour. In attendance during the ceremony was H.E. Katsunobu KATO, Minister for Finance of Japan.
Amb. Lemoshira is a career diplomat who has held several key positions of leadership within the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs. Before his deployment to Japan, he was the Director General Foreign Service- Political and Diplomatic Affairs. Amb. Lemoshira also served as Kenya’s Ambassador to the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria for the period 2015 to 2019, among other assignments at the Headquarters and abroad.
The Ambassador was accompanied by the following Kenya Embassy officials, who were also introduced to the His Majesty the Emperor – Amb. (Pst.) Arthur A. Andambi - Deputy Head of Mission; Ms. Nina Alai -Minister Counsellor; Col. Barbara Wanjiku- Defence Attachè and Mrs. Mary Chuma- Counsellor Administration.
