On 28th February 2025, Colonel Eric Lovega, Commandant Officer Cadet School - Kenya Military Academy called on the Ambassador Moi Lemoshira at the Chancery. Colonel Lovega is on official duty in Japan to attend the 28th International Cadet’s Conference (ICC) taking place at National Defence Academy, Tokyo from 26th February to 4th March 2025. In attendance was Colonel Esther Wanjiku, Defence Attache’, Tokyo.
During the visit, Amb. Lemoshira appreciated the critical role of the Kenya Military Academy in nurturing effective junior leaders for the KDF and allied countries. He emphasised that such training exchanges are imperative in grooming young leaders with a global perspective at the fundamental stage. He expressed confidence that the Embassy will continue to strengthen Kenya-Japan across various fields of defence cooperation.
Senior Cadet Hosea Kiplagat is representing Kenya in the 28th ICC and is the first African participant. The conference was established in 1998 and seeks to foster a sense of global awareness, deepen views on the international security landscape and the imperative for multilateral cooperation. Themed on “Changing Aspects of Security” the discussions at the ICC28 focussed on interpretation of the evolving security and reflections on the characteristics of ideal military leadership in response to the contemporary security environment scenarios.
