JAPANESE COMPANIES PARTNER TO PROMOTE LABOR CONNECTIVITY WITH KENYA TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF HIGHLY SKILLED AND JAPANESE LANGUAGE TRAINED WORKERS

Amb. Moi Lemoshira attended the unveiling of Kenyan workers to Yamaguchi Prefecture in the South West of Japan. The historical event which was officiated by Hon. Keiji Shinozaki, Mayor of Ube City welcomed Mr. Luwate Inda and Mr. Baraka Nang'ithia who together with Ms. Aoko Okello will join Yamaguchi Sangyo, a human resources management company of the Yamasan Group, Japan. The recruitment is an initiative between the company, Mitsui MOL and global labour agency, Labor Mobility Partnership (LaMP).

Luwate is a Computer Science graduate from Strathmore University Kenya while Baraka holds a degree in International Business from United States University in Africa, Nairobi.

In his Opening Statement Hon. Shinozaki welcomed the Kenyan workers and briefed that Ube City has put in place to promote relations with Kenya in line with the policy of Yamaguchi Prefecture to strengthen collaboration with peoples from different parts of the world. He encouraged the new Kenyan workers to seek any support they may require from the Ube City government to ensure their success.

Mr. Shinsuke Fukushige CEO of Yamaguchi Sangyo congratulated the Kenyans noting that they are highly skilled graduates and possess very good Japanese language level. He said that the launch of the labor recruitment from Kenya opens huge potential for Japan to acquire much needed human resources to bridge gaps in various sectors.

Mr. Tomonori Morimitsu, Assistant Director General for Industry and Labor of the Yamaguchi Prefecture Government shared the same sentiments and urged the Kenyans to give their best in working with their new employer.

In his Statement Amb. Lemoshira expressed gratitude to Yamaguchi Sangyo and Ube City to the opportunity granted to for talented Kenyan young people to work in Japan. He the expressed of the Embassy "to deepen people-to-people exchanges between Ube City and Kenya." He wished the Kenyans success in their respective assignments and urged them to remember they are Kenya's Ambassadors in labor mobility.

The arrival of the Kenyans is in furtherance to the signing of a business alliance between Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd and Yamaguchi Sangyo Co., Ltd on recruiting foreign workers for Japanese companies.
