COURTESY CALL BY STUDENTS AND STAFF OF ST. ANDREWS SCHOOL TURI, KENYA

On 13th October, 2025, the Embassy was honored to host staff and students of St. Andrews school Turi, Kenya for a courtesy call at the Chancery.  The team of 34 included students from 8 different countries include Tanzania, Kenya, Algeria, Uganda, United Kingdom, Nigeria, USA and Switzerland and 4 staff from the school.  The students are year 9 to year 13 and are in Japan for a music tour.

The Deputy Head of Mission Amb. Arthur Andambi welcomed the team to the chancery and thanked them for visiting the Embassy. He briefed on the functions of the Embassy and Kenya -Japan relations.  Amb. Andambi engaged the students in a Q & A session whereby the students were curious to know more about the life of a diplomat and universities in Japan.

Speaking on behalf of the students and the team Ms. Caroline Mannion, the Head of Arts, thanked the Embassy for hosting the team. She said that the students were on a music trip but later open to creative subjects. The trip was for tourism and to experience Japanese culture so as to inspire the creative exploits of the students in arts, music and drama to experience the culture and absorb the different environment. The students performed 3 different songs in English and Zulu. Other Staff who accompanied the team were Ms. Faith Kamwetu, English Teacher, Mr. Lewis Turnbull, Director of Sports and Mr. Nick Mwashimba is the Director of Hikari School of Music, Nakuru. A music school that collaborates with Turi School.

The Kenya Embassy was also represented by Ms. Jennifer Njuguna, First Counsellor.
